A new era has begun: welcome to the World Sportbike Championship!

A new era has begun: welcome to the World Sportbike Championship!

After nine thrilling seasons of the WSS300 class, that saw us partner up with the winningest team of all, it’s time for a new dawn. Enter stage left: the World Sportbike class. And we couldn’t resist but join the party once again, this time supporting three very promising teams with equally exciting riders.

New class, new rules

A quick look at the entry list of the class shows a variety of bikes, with a 90bhp power threshold being the main statistic to balance performance. From parallel twins, to triples, to inline fours: pretty much all configurations are present from no less than six manufacturers. With interest from other manufacturers spiking, the new class seems to be here to stay, offering a more streamlined trajectory into the bigger classes.

Race on Sunday…
An age-old adagio among motorcycle manufacturers is “Race on Sunday, sell on Monday”. With high power superbikes and peaky-revving supersport bikes becoming somewhat of a niche throughout recent years, the World Sportbike class represents a more approachable, more accessible segment of motorcycles that still make sense to use on the roads or for the odd track day.

A mix of backgrounds
33 riders from 16 different nationalities will compete during the inaugural World Sportbike championship. From WSS300 champions to a winner in Moto3, to frontrunners in national championships and riders who took one step back from WSS600 hoping to go two steps forwards: expect nothing less than a spectacular first year of this already exiting class. And we’re there to join the excitement.

Chained up, ready to go!
The previous feeder class, the WSS300 championship, proved a great talent pool for young racers. And because we love to support the future of racing, we’ve upped our involvement in this new-for-2026 class. Not only did we follow the winningest squad in WSS300, the Belgium ran MTM Kawasaki squad, into their new World Sportbike adventure, but we also proudly teamed up with the VLR Racing Team and the Wixx Racing squad, both running the Suzuki GSX800. With so much talent on the grid, we are proud to once again join the fun as the driving force forward. And we will keep you posted on the results of our six promising riders who are all in it to win it.
